SCSCJA SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE REQUESTS YOUR ASSISTANCE IN

PROVIDING ITEMS FOR SILENT AUCTION AT SEPTEMBER CONVENTION

The Scholarship Committee of the South Carolina Summary Court Judges Association is preparing for its fundraiser to raise money for the Scholarship Fund that provides educational opportunities for judges (who are members of the SCSCJA) around the state whose county/municipality may not provide funding as part of their budget.  We are having a silent auction and your support of this event is greatly appreciated.  The auction will be held at the banquet during our September convention at Myrtle Beach.

We are looking for a variety of items to be included in the silent auction.  Here are some ideas for your consideration:

  • Something that represents your county/municipality (Charleston: Sweetgrass basket for example)
  • Clemson/USC (or other SC college) items
  • Professional Sports memorabilia (NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL)
  • Jewelry
  • Guns/rifles (for the hunters/protectors among us!)
  • Art (local artists)
  • Home Decor (clocks, wall decorations)
  • Personally made items (for the crafters among us)
  • Themed Baskets (Date Night, Family Movie Night, Gardening, Romantic Evening)

Email me directly (cullerd@clemson.edu) with a description of your contributions so we can make sure we have enough tables to display all of our auction items.  (How’s that for optimism!)  We’re counting on all of you to bring at least one item for the auction.  Bring the item(s) with you to registration and a member of the Scholarship Committee will coordinate storing the items until the banquet.

If you are not planning to attend the convention in September but would like to contribute an item to the auction, please coordinate with another judge in your area to deliver your contribution to the beach or contact me and I will try to coordinate that for you.

Thanks in advance for your help in making this auction the best ever.  Hope to see y’all at the beach!
